It was a great event last night Matt. Thanks so much for all your work putting it together. I'm really excited about the group and all the potential for great things to spring from it as it grows and evolves.

Fantastic work Matt. I came away from last night, not only inspired, but with a handful of new contacts comprising some of the most innovative and creative people I have met in a very long time.

I look forward to the Forge Louisville website and the upcoming events. I think it might be nice to pre-organize individuals based on their expertise so that we can get an overview of who's out there and who to turn to for various ideas and projects.

Again, some fine leadership work on your part.

Michelle, thanks so much. I'm glad we could finally meet and look forward to having a less harried time to get to know you.

John, thanks for heading over from Lexington once again! You bring an incredible energy.

    I'm still on cloud nine.

    Best,
    Matt

This community is so fortunate to have you. I vicariously was soaking up your praise as everyone told me how happy they were you put this together. You're such a rock star!

Ps-Yeah, that logo is pretty freaking cool!

QUOTE: "working groups focused on new media, healthcare,etc..."What a noble reason to celebrate this philanthropic unifying body. Care to share any updates? In relation to health care, look forward to topics about incontinence because this subject has been an embarrassment to more women when the truth is this is not a shameful sickness but just another chapter in the life of those who are prone to this.

There are a few new faces for me tonight but most of you know me as the Louisville transplant who arrived three years ago to see what I could learn about venture capital at Chrysalis Ventures. That position has afforded me a bird’s eye view, however imperfect, of the startup scene here and I’ve gotten to know most of you through that work and a number of you more informally as friends and thought partners.

providers from the area under one roof on a regular basis. But I’ll be disappointed if that’s all it is, and confident given the turnout last night and incredible feedback

There are little, high quality, fires all over the city, and it’s time, I think, to do something that pulls them together.

What entrepreneurs are consistently missing is the first-hand knowledge of how to get things done. This is really a double-edged sword. The reason entrepreneurs are the risk takers is because they do things that they have never done and somehow make it work.

The downside is that a lot of learning takes place through trial and error. This can be extraordinarily painful during a funding process. One bad presentation, the lack of a “champion in the room”, or any number of missteps can mean the difference between getting the capital you need and closing up shop…
